One Immortal Love Story !

While introducing the poem, Vivek writes in English: “Certain love-stories never end. Man may die but his love may still survive… When your love crisscrosses your life, it’s a time to make a decisoon.. time to choose your direction… You may have to let your love die in the eyes of this mortal world yet it may become immortal through your art…

Here is one such immortal love story [in Gujarati] for you.”

One Immortal Love Story !

They were not arguing any more !
That matter
shouldn’t be brought into their talks —
they had agreed upon.
He (she) had to stop breathing !
Fifteen seconds passed…
breathing stopped…
thirty seconds…
forty five seconds…
nostrils got swollen.
The eyes became bloody.
But the decision was made.
One minute.
Ten seconds more…
Another five seconds…
Four seconds more…
Another two or so seconds…
Another one…
One another…
O…n…e… more.
M…
….o…
……..r…
…………e…
Like a water balloon
He (she)
Collapsed on the blank page in his (her) hand !
He (she) was gone.
But
Marks on that paper
Won the prize for the best poem of that year…

    It reminds me 0f a happening! a non-rank-holder mischivious student of std.VIII[1960] just made ink -stains,cris-cross lines and marks of any size and shape/s…while responding to A Qn.:in Exam.:Write EK GAANDANI Atmakatha( Autobiography of A MAD-MAN), & HE WAS GIVEN FULL MARKS for the talent and risk he took!!! I relate this to VIveks’s genuinely realistic EFFORT.ThanQ ALL CONCERNED.
